I am really glad you’ve accepted my interview. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Can you tell us a bit more about how you became a writer?
I always loved writing, as a hobby. Many years ago, I decided to try to write a novel. Just to see if I could finish one. I did finish it. But it was terrible and about 100 agents agreed. But I was hooked on writing at that point, so I wrote another one. And another one. And then I wrote CLARITY, which was my first book to sell to a publisher.
Was it difficult for the first book to find a publisher?
Yes, I definitely wasn’t an overnight success. I wrote three books before my first sale. But I learned a lot from each one and worked hard to improve my craft.
Could you describe literature in three words?
Entertaining, inspiring, comforting
Is there a book you would never read? Why?
There are books I have no interest in because I’m not a fan of the genre or the author’s voice, but I never say never!
What’s your favorite book?
It’s hard to pick one, but maybe Kissing the Beehive by Jonathan Carroll.
“Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.” – Alexander Smith
EBooks or paper print?
I will read ebooks but print is my favorite. I love the feeling of the paper and the smell of a new book.
What inspires you?
Entertainment (books, TV, film), life experiences (vacations, hiking, hobbies) and even the day-to-day stuff like having dinner with my family. All of it is inspiring in its own way.
Imagine you were given the opportunity to meet a book character in real life. Who would that be?
This is the hardest question! I think it would be so strange meeting someone you know isn’t real. Maybe Clare from my CLARITY series because she seems so real in my head.
What’s your worst nightmare?
Something bad happening to my family.
The best decision of your life was?
Marrying my husband. 😊
I can’t wait to read your next book. Are you currently working on a project? Is there any release date to reveal?
I do have another project in the works, but I can’t say anything about it yet. Hopefully soon!
Thanks for having me!
